In-Conference Games
ACC
The ACC has played the most in-conference games of the Power 4 conferences through Week 2. The average in-conference differential for the ACC is set at 17.75.
Two of those four games ended with large point differentials and a murky picture of the conference’s overall strength.
- Miami (FL) dealt a +39 blow to Stanford during Week 1. The Stanford Cardinal were only able to put up six points and the Hurricanes left with 45 points.
- Virginia walked away from their Week Zero home opener with a +26 win over North Carolina State. The Wolfpack’s eight points came on a 3rd quarter touchdown and two-point conversion but the Cavaliers tallied up a total of 34 points.
Two of the ACC’s early in-conference games were decided by slim, three-point margins.
- SMU bested Florida State 27-24 on Labor Day.
- California eked out a 21-18 win over Syracuse during Week 2.
Big 12
The Big 12 has only played one in-conference game through Week 2 of the 2026-27 season. The BYU Cougars set the in-conference differential benchmark at 11. They beat Arizona 28-17 at home in Utah during Week 2.
SEC
The SEC scheduled one in-conference game through Week 2. Alabama beat Kentucky 45-17 in Kentucky during Week 2. It sets a large in-conference benchmark for the SEC at 28.
Big Ten
The Big Ten conference is the only Power 4 group that hasn’t played an in-conference game through Week 2.
Conference Standings
ACC
The ACC has the smallest share of its members remaining undefeated through Week 2. Eight of the conference’s programs haven’t lost yet, eight have a mixed record and one program, Georgia Tech, is sitting at 0-2.
The Yellow Jackets have dropped a 13-14 game to the Big 12’s Colorado during Week 1and a 24-45 game to the SEC’s Tennessee in Week 2.
Big 12
The Big 12 has the second largest share of its members making it to Week 3 without a loss. It’s an even split with eight of its member programs being undefeated through Week 2 and eight heading into Week 3 with at least one loss. No team in the conference has failed to win a game.
Big Ten
The Big Ten has the third largest share of its CFB teams remaining undefeated going into Week 3 of the 2026-27 season. Eleven of the conference’s 18 members haven’t dropped a game through three weekends of football. Six teams have a mixed record coming out of Week 2.
Only of the Big Ten members still has a zero in the win column. Rutgers is 0-2 after having lost 21-37 to UMass in Week 1 and 21-28 to Boston College in Week 2.
SEC
The SEC has the largest share of undefeated programs among the Power 4 through Week 2. Thirteen of the conference’s 16 SEC programs have made it through the season’s three opening weeks without a loss. Three SEC teams are 1-1 going into Week 3.
- Kentucky is the recipient of the SEC’s first in-conference loss. They locked in a 45-13 win over Youngstown State but followed that up with a 17-45 loss to Alabama in Week 2.
- Arkansas’ first loss of the 2026-27 season was a 10-43 game against Big 12 member Utah. They started the season with a 31-14 win over North Alabama.
- Oklahoma followed a similar pattern. The Sooners kicked off the season with a 51-0 shutout of UTEP but proceeded to drop a 10-17 loss to Michigan in Week 2.
Every team in the SEC has logged a win going into Week 3.
